Characterized by being at early stages of self-empowerment, young language learners are considerably vulnerable and in need of particular language input to meet their age-appropriate psychological demands. This study is one of the early attempts to detect the appropriate corrective feedback for children’s linguistic (grammar uptake) and personality (willingness to communicate) development. Thirty-seven young language learners (mean age = 10.32) at two pre-intermediate classes in a non-profit language institute took part in this study. Following intact group design, they were divided into two groups of recasts and explicit feedback. Whereas in the recast group, all or part of an erroneous utterance was reformulated by teacher, correct forms were directly and explicitly provided in the explicit group in the course of a semester (19 sessions ´ 50 min=950 mins). A structured willingness to communicate (WTC) scale and two parallel grammaticality judgment tests were administered at pre- and post-intervention conditions; this stage was accompanied by the teacher’s formative observations using an unstructured WTC checklist and a tally chart worksheet. The results of the quantitative phase revealed higher grammar uptake for the recast group. Besides, students in the implicit group showed more WTC in both quantitative and qualitative investigations. These findings indicate that for young learners the use of a less direct way might be more effective in both raising their unconscious L2 knowledge and willingness to participate in classroom activities.}, keywords = {young language learners,corrective feedback,recasts,explicit feedback,grammar uptake,willingness to communicate}, title_fa = {بازخورد مناسب در مورد خطاها برای زبان آموزان خردسال}, abstract_fa = {با وجود استقبال روزافزون از مقوله اصلاح خطاها در تحقیقات، تاثیر سن به عنوان عامل بالقوه مربوط به زبانآموز به طور قابل ملاحظهای نادیده گرفته شده است. زبانآموزان خردسال – که در مراحل اولیه توانمندسازی قرار دارند – به شدت آسیبپذیر بوده و نیازمند شیوههای آموزشی (از جمله آموزش زبان) هستند که با ویژگیهای سنی آنها هماهنگی داشته باشد. مطالعه پیش رو به بررسی و شناسایی بازخورد مناسب در مورد خطاها برای پیشرفت زبانی (یادگیری قواعد انگلیسی) و بهبود شخصیتی (ایجاد تمایل به برقراری ارتباط) زبانآموزان خردسال پرداخته است. سی و هفت زبان آموز (میانگین سنی 32/10 سال) در دو کلاس سطح ابتدایی از یک آموزشگاه زبان انگلیسی غیردولتی در این مطالعه شرکت کردند. با استفاده از روش نمونهگیری یکجا، شرکتکنندگان به دو گروه بازخورد مستقیم و غیرمستقیم تقسیم شدند. در مدت یک ترم تحصیلی (19 جلسه × 50 دقیقه =950 دقیقه) در گروه بازخورد غیرمستقیم تمام یا بخشی از یک اشتباه توسط معلم به صورت غیرعلنی بازسازی و ارائه گردید، حال آنکه در گروه مستقیم شکل صحیح اشتباه به صورت مشخص و واضح به زبانآموز ارائه شد. آزمون استاندارد تمایل به برقراری ارتباط و دو آزمون موازی ارزیابی ساختاری در موقعیتهای پیشآزمون و پسآزمون از زبانآموزان به عمل آمد؛ همزمان با استفاده از روش مشاهده مستمر، فرم تشریحی میزان مشارکت و یک جدول شمارشگر، میزان تمایل شرکت کنندگان به برقراری ارتباط به صورت عینی و عملی بررسی شد. تحلیل دادهها در بخش کمی نشاندهنده تاثیرگذاری معنادار روش بازخورد غیرمستقیم در یادگیری قواعد بود. همچنین طبق نتایج کمی و کیفی، زبانآموزان در همین گروه در زمینه تمایل به برقراری ارتباط عملکرد بهتری داشتند. بنابراین به نظر میرسد بهترین شیوه بازخورد در مورد خطاها برای زبان آموزان خردسال روش غیرمستقیم است.}, keywords_fa = {زبان آموزان خردسال,اصلاح خطاها,بازخورد مستقیم,بازخورد غیرمستقیم,یادگیری قواعد,تمایل به برقراری ارتباط}, url = {https://ilt.atu.ac.ir/article_8058.html}, eprint = {https://ilt.atu.ac.ir/article_8058_1b227eb5a85d61852bf51617649e1f20.pdf} }
